Do you select short-term housing? What about your pets? That’s why we are here. This article outlines 7 housing tips for travel therapists.
7 Housing Tips for Travel Therapists
Check Out Extended Stay Hotels. Since long term stays typically exceed 30 days, extended stay hotels are great options. There are certain tax breaks, and someone cleans up for you. What can be better than that?
Try VRBO or Airbnb. If you are interested in short term housing, vacation rental sites are popular options. The great thing with the popularity of vacation rentals is depending on your travel location, you will have a lot of options.
Did Anyone Say Roommates?
Find a Roommate. Staying with another traveler has a lot of options. You both understand the travel lifestyle and can enjoy the comfort of living with someone that gets your schedule. Be sure to speak with your recruiter if you are interested in living or traveling with someone.
Stay With A Family Member or Friend. Some travelers are lucky enough to have an assignment in a city that you know someone. Living with someone you know is a great option for a travel therapist.
Room For Rent? There are plenty of sites out there offering rooms for rents. It’s also something that your recruiter might be able to help with. Just be sure you check everything out and make sure it’s the right fit for you.
Do Your Homework
Use An Agency. A lot of travel therapists use agencies to help them find housing. It’s one less thing you have to worry about. They can help you find a spot and can even have cheaper pricing.
Furnished Defined. It’s best to ask when you see something is furnished. Sometimes furnished means a dresser, dining room table, and a chair/couch. That might be all you need but it’s better to know ahead of time before showing up and being caught off guard.
Traveling With Pets?
Be Upfront. If you are traveling with a pet be honest. Tell your recruiter if they are helping find a house for you or be upfront with your search. You don’t want to lie as some places have a strict 0 tolerance policy for pets.
