No matter what your experience level, our team can help guide you on your journey to becoming a Travel Healthcare professional. Most of the facilities we partner with require a minimum of one-year clinical healthcare experience in order to be considered for a Travel Healthcare assignment at that facility. For some locations and jobs, healthcare facilities can even require two or more years of clinical healthcare experience in order to be considered for a travel healthcare assignment at that facility. For travel allied professionals, there are positions available immediately following graduation. Yes, many facilities allow for contract extensions. If you love your destination and assignment, let your recruiter know that you are interested in extending. Your recruiter will provide support in requesting and accepting an extension for your current assignment. We recommend letting your recruiter know you'd like to extend your contract as soon as you know and before your original contract ends. Doing this helps increase the chances of receiving a contract extension from the healthcare facility.
At Host Healthcare, we take pride in building strong relationships with both our travelers and healthcare facilities. Due to the trust we have built with healthcare facilities, you may receive an auto offer after you apply to a position. While auto offers can occur with many of our partner healthcare facilities, this may vary based on a specific facility’s hiring policies and current market demands.

To receive your swag, please fill out the short form that we will send to your email a few days after your assignment starts. After we receive your information, we will ship your swag! Only one state can be identified as your Primary State of Residence for Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) purposes. Documents to verify your Primary State of Residence can include, but are not limited to:
  • Driver's license with home address
  • Voter's registration card with home address
  • Federal income tax return declaring state of residence
  • W2 from a federal agency, bureau, or division, indicating the declared state of residence
Upon moving to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR), visit the board of nursing website and complete the application for license by endorsement. You may practice in the new state under the former state multi-state license until the multi-state license in the new Primary State of Residence is issued. Once it is issued, the former state license will be made inactive. You may not wait until the former license is about to expire before you apply for the license in the new Primary State of Residence.
  1. Notify the board of nursing in your former state of your new address in the noncompact state. This changes your multi-state license to a single state license.
  2. If you need a license in the noncompact state, visit the board of nursing website and complete the application for license by endorsement. You may do this prior to moving to the noncompact state.
