Congratulations to our featured travel therapist Erica Johnson-Herrera. Erica Johnson-Herrera is an Occupational Therapist, and our featured Traveler of the Month for February!
Our featured travel therapist Erica Johnson-Herrera, has been traveling with us in Illinois and just started her third assignment with us last week! We asked Erica’s recruiter, Jordan, to expand on why he nominated her for Traveler of the Month: “I nominated Erica for Traveler of the Month for a few reasons! 1st of all, she is a great therapist, our reviews and evaluations have proven what I suspected when I first spoke with her months ago. She gets along with everyone and is NEVER in a bad mood (at least with me 🙂 ) and this has been shown by the work she puts into her assignments. Her timecards are in well before they’re due, compliance loves working with her and she’s always down to chat for a few minutes!”
Host Healthcare wanted to let you (Erica) know that your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and that we appreciate your upbeat initiative! Read a little snippet about Erica’s life as a traveling OT below.
Q: What is your guilty pleasure after a long day at work? A: Muay Thai! It is always nice to hit something (or someone) safely of course!
Q: What is your favorite experience that has happened since you have been traveling? A: I have had the opportunity to meet so many different families while providing care for their loved ones. One patient even hand stitched me a pillow!
Q: If you could only take 3 items with you on a travel assignment what would they be? A: Pedretti, my bible, and a pulse ox
Q: What has been one of your favorite places you have visited while on assignment? A: I was in Peru, Illinois that is! It is a small town that is very welcoming and inviting. The people there treat you like a member. Of their family, help you dig snow out of your driveway and even stop by to say hello.
Q: What would be your dream travel spot? A: In the U.S. hmmm, probably Hawaii
Q: What is your favorite part about being a OT? A: The fact that I’m dealing with real people and their meaningful Occupations (whatever they may be). I’m not telling them, I’m collaborating, learning and working with them to be at their best despite their current circumstance.
Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be? A: I would be Storm and control the weather of course! It would be 78 degrees here in Chicago every day!
Q: What is one word that sums up your recruiter Jordan? A: Just one! Awww, ok…Personable.
Thank you Erica for being such a valuable member to the Host Healthcare community!
